Health in Tech (HIT) is reimagining and simplifying the way self-funded health plans are designed, priced and packaged for small to mid-sized companies. We are a fast-growing company combining the expertise of software developers, reinsurance specialists, insurance administrators and health-care providers to challenge the high-cost of health insurance for businesses and dramatically simplify the buying process.

Summary

The VP of HR collaborates with senior leadership to drive business growth by implementing best-practice HR-related processes and initiatives and effectively managing risk. The Vice President of Human Resources is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Chief of Staff, and oversees all functions commonly associated with HR.

Duties And Responsibilities Include:

  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding - attract, evaluate, and hire outstanding talent; effectively onboard them.
  • Compensation - develop, implement and administer broad-based and executive compensation plans including base salary, annual incentives, and equity-based compensation.
  • Performance Management - develop, implement and administer a performance-management process.
  • Manage Risk - ensure compliance with applicable state and federal employment laws.
  • Drive Organizational Change - collaborate with leadership on desired organizational changes and drive execution.
  • Productivity and Retention - Identify and implement initiatives to improve organizational culture and employee engagement; effectively resolve employee relation issues.
  • Efficient Payroll and Benefits Administration - lead and coach employees responsible for this area to implement improvements.
  • Workplace Policies/Benefit Plans - Develop, implement and administer workplace policies and benefit plans aligned with business goals and company culture.
  • Metrics - Establish metrics for functional success and periodically measure and report on them

Required Qualifications Include

  • A 4-year degree in business, human resources, finance or related area.
  • 10+ years of experience in the HR function with 3+ years at a leadership level (responsible for all HR functions).
  • 5+ years of experience in the insurance and/or technology industry preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with a public company with hands-on experience with public reporting requirements and executive compensation.
  • A track-record of accomplishments towards business improvement
  • Understands the culture of a fast-growing public start-up; flexible and hands-on.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong influencing skills.
  • Comfortable with accountability
