A System Engineering Contractor at Health In Tech is responsible for assigned tasks which ensure the health, uptime, and compliance of various computer systems in cloud environments. These tasks are in support of business operations, security requirements, and development teams. The ideal candidate has experience with Linux systems, container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes, automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and familiarity with AWS and best practices for operating in a cloud environment.


Responsibilities

· Maintaining technical infrastructure and system components.

· Ensuring that security and compliance requirements are followed.

· Developing technical documentation.

· Monitoring ticket queues to assist internal customers.

· Ensuring that the advertised Service Level Agreements are maintained.

· Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

A combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US.

· Bachelor's degree or applicable experience.

· Minimum of three years working with IT or Cloud environments.

· Minimum two years of experience working with container orchestration such as Kubernetes.

· Experience in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.

· Flexibility, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge.

What are some of the preferred requirements of a Systems Engineering Contractor?

While not all are required, a strong working knowledge or experience with these are a plus.

· Experience with container runtimes such as Docker and Podman.

· Experience with Kubernetes, primarily using EKS.

· Configuration management and automation experience using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.

· Monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Amazon CloudWatch, and Grafana

· Experience administering both Linux and Windows systems.

· Scripting and automation experience with common shells and languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.)

· Capable of advanced usage of version control software such as GIT.
