Senior Financial Accountant

Job Summary

Our client, Health In Tech, is currently seeking an experienced Financial Accountant with specialized knowledge in insurance accounting and technology to join our team. This role is the opportunity to contribute in a wide variety of accounting and financial analysis issues. If you have accounting experience in health insurance and are interested in broadening your experience in a small, fast-growing company, this may be the role for you.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Work with captive manager and carrier to report insurance premium written, premium unearned and earned premium.

• Partner with claims department and actuary to support IBNR estimate.

• Track and qualify enrollments.

• Cashflow monitoring and reporting

• Work with CFO to prepare premium forecast

• Coordinate audits with external auditors to prepare quarterly and annual reports are prepared in compliance with applicable insurance State requirement and capital requirements

• Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes

• Review minutes of meetings and contracts to ensure financial statements accurately reflect activities

• Review audited annual and unaudited interim accounts

• Review and analyze quarterly financial statements

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in healthcare insurance accounting (stop-loss insurance is a plus)

• Minimum 7 years' accounting and/or finance experience (experience with a public company a plus)

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related.

• Oracle and/or Quickbooks

• Microsoft office suite
