Health in Tech (HIT) is reimagining and simplifying the way self-funded health plans are designed, priced and packaged for small to mid-sized companies. We are a fast-growing company combining the expertise of software developers, reinsurance specialists, insurance administrators and health-care providers to challenge the high-cost of health insurance for businesses and dramatically simplify the buying process.

Summary

The Director of Human Resources is a hands-on position responsible for providing guidance on people-related matters to the executive team and leading and executing HIT's HR operations in support of its mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities include the following:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and people managers to drive HIT's mission and goals through effective, business-aligned, talent management, total rewards programs and organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Execute the onboarding, offboarding and orientation process.
  • Execute the payroll and benefit administration processes with the support of an HR assistant.
  • Execute the recruiting process with assistance from outside vendors/recruiters as needed.
  • Develop and communicate workplace policies aligned with business goals, company culture and best practices.
  • Identify key performance indicators and benchmarks for the HR organization and tracks results against those benchmarks.
  • Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits performance appraisal, and incentive programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law and human resources; ensures compliance with all relevant requirements.
  • Assist senior leaders in developing manager training and development programs.
  • Assist senior leaders in developing short-and long-term staffing needs, training and professional development programs,

The successful candidate will have the following "hard" qualifications:

  • 10+ years of HR experience with 5+ of those years at a small or mid-size company and 3+ of those years at a senior manager or director level.
  • Bachelor's degree in business and an HR designation is usually associated with the skills needed for this role but not required.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • HRIS and software - Knowledge of, and hands-on experience, with human resource information systems, and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Experience with ADP's WFN or Run platform is strongly preferred.
