What does a DBA do for Health in Tech?
The Junior DBA role at Health In Tech will provide DBA services to systems engineering and application development teams as needed and will work to maintain availability, performance, integrity and security of Health In Tech database systems.
This position will provide enterprise DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience with MySQL/MariaDB RDB systems deployed in a cloud environment (AWS RDS) experience with Linux systems and experience working with sensitive data. Experience with Python and NoSQL technologies a plus.
Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with data security requirements including monitoring user access and security.
· Monitor and optimize performance of databases,
· Plan for backup and recovery of the database (Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans)
· Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments.
· Ensure that storage versioning and archiving procedures are tested and functioning properly.
· Carry out capacity planning
· Research, evaluate, recommend, and plan improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.
· Development team support.
· Database production support
· Developing technical documentation.
· Monitoring ticket queues to assist internal customers.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
A combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US.
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent applicable experience.
· 1-2 years working with MariaDB/MySQL RDBM Systems or the equivalent.
· Extremely strong SQL skills.
· 1-2 years of experience working with AWS RDS Technologies.
· Experience in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
· Solid grasp of database theory and design principles.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.
· Flexibility, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge.
While not all are required, a strong working knowledge or experience with these are a plus.
· Experience working with Django web framework.
· Experience with reporting technologies.
· Experience with NoSQL document and key value databases.
· Experience working with queuing solutions (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
· Database design experience.
· Capable of usage of version control software such as GIT.
